It contains glucosamine and chondroitin, the chondroprotective compounds that delay the progression of joint space narrowing and improve the joints movement by protecting the cells in the cartilage. They are the basic building blocks for the joints and their anti-inflammatory action can delay many inflammation-induced breakdown processes of the cartilage. In addition, glucosamine improves the production and viscosity of synovial fluid which enables it to better lubricate the joints. Chondroitin Sulphate also inhibits the actions of enzymes involved in the degradation of cartilage.
